Untitled (Jackpot January #20)

I’m glued to this Greenland news. It’s troubling and I have such mixed feelings about it.

On the one hand, it’s hard to look to the future and believe that it won’t be soaked in blood. On the other hand, I can’t shake the feeling that we need this.

Global fascism, imperialism, and authoritarianism is hitting its peak and will soon feel an agonising downfall. And things will suck for decades but I keep hoping that next time we will all be less stupid. Next time, we will stop shrugging off avoidable disasters and deliberate catastrophes, we will stop normalising exploitation, and we will start fighting back.

Soon more of us will feel compelled not just to inert forms of protest, but to direct action, civil disobedience, non-violent resistance, and mutual aid. Can’t we see that we’re running out of options? Or rather, we’re running out of chances to keep pretending there ever were any other options?

Things probably won’t be different any time soon. But the first step to achieving the change is believing in it.

System’s rigged, the whole fucking thing. Sooner or later, something’s gotta give.
